Houston Alimony Lawyers

A party's right to alimony is limited by Texas statutes. Eligibility standards depend on the length of the marriage, whether one party lacks sufficient property to maintain minimal needs, lack of earning potential, care of disable child, among others. A party may be charged with obligation to provide support to his or her spouse if that party has been convicted of a crime of family violence.

The amount, if any, of an award of spousal support and duration of spousal support are limited by Texas law.

If you have questions regarding alimony or spousal maintenance in Texas, contact the Houston divorce lawyers at the law firm of Michael P. Fleming, former Harris County Attorney.

In addition to being well-known as the former Harris County Attorney, Michael P. Fleming has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer.
